The Foundation for Science and Democracy (SWuD) bids farewell to
Dr Hannes Adomeit.
Hannes Adomeit had been closely associated with SWuD for a number of years. As Senior Fellow of the programme sponsored by the SWuD Institute for Security Policy at the University of Kiel he accompanied and supported us with his expertise, especially on his main topic of Russian foreign and security policy.
He was responsible for the SWuD-published SIRIUS - Journal for Strategic Analyses has been one of the main pillars of the company in its five years of existence. He has written several essays, short reviews and analyses. His analysis of the domestic political conditions of Russian foreign and military policy, published in 2017, deserves particular attention.
Also for our Portal for Political Science Hannes Adomeit worked as an author and reviewer.
His texts are characterised by outstanding expertise and convincing clarity.
In Hannes Adomeit, we have lost a loyal companion of the Foundation and an outstanding academic and publicist. Our sympathy goes out to his family and friends.
