New foundation headquarters in Kiel

Move into the foundation's new headquarters at Wall 40 in Kiel

The Foundation for Science and Democracy has moved into its new offices in the centre of Kiel with its Portal for Political Science and the editorial office of its journal SIRIUS. The Institute for Security Policy, SW&D's largest funding partner, is also moving into its new offices at Wall 40.

The refurbishment of the Wall 40 building has taken a lot of time and commitment, and although not all the construction work has been completed, we are excited about the new opportunities this location offers. The new SW&D headquarters will not only be a place of work, but also a place of encounter and exchange. The foundation would like to forge local, regional and international partnerships here and offer events in the future that appeal to researchers as well as practitioners from politics and politically interested citizens and bring these people together.

The view of the Kiel Fjord is still restricted by scaffolding, but the final work on the exterior will soon be completed. We are convinced that SW&D will become firmly anchored in Kiel's cityscape at its new location, directly opposite Schwedenkai, and will be able to promote democracy in the state capital of Kiel and far beyond with its future services.
