Dr Christof Eichert becomes a new member of the Executive Board

We are delighted to announce the election of Dr Christof Eichert as a new member of the SW&D Board of Directors. With an impressive career and extensive experience in the field of foundation management as well as his previous commitment to our substantive issues, Christof Eichert brings a breath of fresh air and new perspectives to our foundation.
He was Managing Director of the Herbert Quandt Foundation until 2016 and previously worked in the management of the Bertelsmann Foundation and the non-profit Hertie Foundation. During this time, his interests lay in the areas of education, integration and social policy as well as in the dialogue between science and practice. As Ministerial Director in North Rhine-Westphalia, he was responsible for social and family policy, intergenerational cohesion and integration policy. Christof Eichert was non-party mayor in Isny im Allgäu and Lord Mayor of the city of Ludwigsburg. He is also a Knight of the Legion of Honour of the French Republic and was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2003.
