Svenja Sinjen is a political scientist and Head of Science Communication at SW&D. In this role, she is also responsible for the political science portal and is setting up the foundation's new events section.

Previously, she was head of the "Berliner Forum Zukunft" at the Research Institute of the German Council on Foreign Relations, where she mainly worked on security and defence policy. Her stays abroad have taken her to the Department of Defence and Strategic Studies at Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, MO/USA as a Visiting Research Fellow. She is a board member (assessor) of the German Atlantic Society (DAG) and member of Women in International Security Germany (WIIS.de).
