Co-operations & funding partnerships

Co-operation

with the SW&D

SW&D acts both operationally and in a promotional capacity and strives for long-term cooperation on an equal footing with its (potential) partners. In line with its foundation objective - the promotion of liberal democracy in the sense of the German Basic Law through political science approaches - SW&D is open to a wide range of forms of cooperation. Whether in the form of long-term institutional support, as with the Institute for Security Policy at Kiel University (ISPK)or through temporary and thematically limited projects, such as Events at Wall 40which are realised together with the foundation.

Particularly with regard to the Event area In addition to national and international partnerships, SW&D also welcomes cooperation with regional partners at the foundation's headquarters in Kiel. In any case, the foundation is keen to continuously expand its network of academics, political practitioners and civil society multipliers in order to jointly generate new impetus and promote dialogue.

In addition, the SW&D institutions also maintain their own cooperation partnerships, for example by participating in international research projects such as "Parliaments in the Pandemic (PiP)" of the Research Committee of Legislative Specialists (RCLS) of the International Political Science Association (IPSA) at the IParl. Further partnerships arise through our own events, such as the IParl's research colloquium or spring academy, cooperation with publishers and academics as well as practitioners from politics. Detailed information can be found on the respective online presences of the institutions.

Since 2022, SW&D has been funding the social science journal INDES, which, under new management, presents exciting research findings to a broad public. The journal enriches political and social debates with current topics and unconventional perspectives.
