The Fourth joint blog symposium on the topic of "Parliamentary decisions on its own behalf" has started.
How should it be analysed and evaluated in terms of constitutional law and political science when parliament decides "on its own behalf"? What significance do such constellations have for the stability and functioning of democracy? What mechanisms can defuse the conflict? Can certain procedural obligations or the need to involve independent actors be derived from the constitution?
These questions will be explored in the current blog symposium from a legal and political science perspective.
The debate is introduced with the contribution Parliamentary "decisions on our own behalf" by Sophie Schönberger.
Further impetus will follow in the next few days.
